Cabo fishing report May 1st 2018
Here are some pictures of our friends from Philadelphia, Joe and his lovely wife.
Winds have been strong and the wakes a bit big out in the deep, so we have been fishing lots in shore catching multiple fish on a daily basis.
Inshore fishing in Cabo San Lucas is great. We are catching jacks, sierras mackerel, red snappers, rooster fish and groupers.
If you would like to target all these inshore species, you should look into fishing on a panga or a small boat that can get right into the sand or boulders by shore. This is where we highly recommend searching as this is where you will find these smaller game inshore species.
Now, we have also been catching football size yellowfin tunas, and striped marlin 3-5 miles off from shore. The tuna run has also stayed pretty consistent on a daily basis.
You can always go target small tuna or striped marlin on small boats like pangas or 30 footers, unless you want to charter a bigger boat. Larger vessels are more of a preference to make sure you are a bit more comfortable while fishing through strong winds.
Our strong winds will stop for a few days starting Thursday May 3rd 2018 giving us a break to go back out 30 miles targeting big 200 pound yellowfin tunas.
